What are the different loops and safety measures that can be installed with a gate?
A lot of automation we install to a gate, has an exit loop used to exit the gates automatically. These exit loops are installed by first cutting into the concrete, next step is to wrap the loop wire 3 times into the cut area. This wire is powered by the panel box next to the gate. Once all the wires are set, we will seal the cut concrete! The exit loop works when someone drives over the wired area, the gates will then open for a quick exit.
Shadow loops can also be installed, these loops are typically used on commercial property's to prevent tailgating through gates! They are loops that detect when a vehicle makes it through the gate so that it will instantly shut. Safety loops can also be installed, these are loops that detect the vehicles to prevent a gate from closing on them!
Another safety measure used is a photo eye or photo beam, this is a beam that shoots across the bottom of an open gate, just a like a garage door! If the gate is closing and the the photo beam is tripped or interrupted, the gate will automatically stop and reopen preventing any closures on cars or anything else in its way.
